Practice An Interactive Exploration of Yoga, Ayurveda And Secular Buddhism For Wise And Joyful Living

the Journey Towards Embodied Wisdom For Everyday Living JEWEL 2024 is a series that takes place over six Months (one Sunday per month) from Jan-June 2024. It is an ideal program of practice and interactive exploration for those who want to bring the wisdom of Yoga, Ayurveda, Mindfulness and Secular Buddhism into their life in ways that are accessible, meaningful, practical and joyful.

The day will be divided into active morning and more restful afternoon sessions. The mornings will feature dynamic yoga practice and teachings from Ayurveda on nutrition and digestion. The afternoon sessions will feature more contemplative practices such as restorative yoga, mindfulness meditation in various forms, philosophical inquiry and and discussion. We will focus on unpacking the origins, meaning and purpose of mindfulness and to that end we’ll examine the Buddha’s Eightfold Path of Awakening and explore how it is relevant to the age in which we actually live today.

The live sessions will be recorded so that if you miss some of the live sessions, you can catch up in your own time. The course will be accompanied by recordings and other materials to support at home learning and practice between sessions.

Our mission is not simply to dedicate one day a month to self-care and learning, but rather to come into community, engage deeply with body heart and mind, share our experiences and apply what we discover to our daily lives, actively weaving the wisdom of yoga into the world in which we live.
