Supported Easeful Practice for all Ages


There are many reasons why people may appreciate the support of a chair to explore yoga. No one needs to explain their choices—everybody is welcome to chair yoga!

It’s not a “less than” way of doing yoga, it’s just a different presentation and all the benefits of yoga are available whether sitting of standing and moving with a chair for support. With the use of a chair, everyone can do some mindful yoga movement , focused breath work and restorative stillness with guided awareness practice. These are powerful yoga techniques to support clarity in the mind, strength, flexibility and energetic balance in the body and a lightness and brightness in the heart.

No matter your age, body size, yoga experience, a chair can be a powerful ally in your yoga journey. No unnecessary judgments--just the essence of yoga—coming home to yourself!


We offer Two Options For Chair Yoga

Gentle Chair Yoga

This class is fully seated and is suitable for those who need the full support of a chair. There are plenty of wonderful ways to support circulation, strengthen and overall ease and peace in body and mind while fully seated.

Active Chair Yoga

This class alternates between seated and non seated practices. We use guided mindfulness of breath and body as well as a combination of seated and standing movements, always with the option of using the chair for balance.
