Pregnancy is a time of great transformation, with each month bringing new challenges as your body changes and the birth of your baby draws nearer. Developing a yoga practice during pregnancy can help to calm the mind, connect with the breath and focus attention on the miracle of life. However prenatal yoga is much more than just a regular yoga class with women who all happen to be pregnant--Labour, as the word suggests, is a demanding job and physically preparing your body and mentally preparing for this event during your pregnancy is of great benefit. Prenatal yoga attends to not only to these preparation for birth needs but also addresses the important physical and emotional issues specific to pregnant women.
Your teacher for this course, Colette Young, has specialized in prenatal yoga and herself gave birth this summer to her first child. She used yoga throughout her pregnancy to help her navigate the changes taking place in her body and her life and is delighted to share these hugely beneficial techniques with other pregnant women.
During this course Colette will not only share these yoga techniques but also create a safe and empowering community environment for women in their 2nd and 3rd trimesters.
