If Yoga is about connection how come sometimes we can feel left out?
Yoga is a homecoming to one's body mind and heart--it's a deeply personal and yet also a connecting experience. But yoga at it's core is most definitely not about comparing yourself to others. Nonetheless, walking into a yoga class for the first time can be intimidating--at least I know that was the case for me. The first step on the transformative journey of yoga can be hampered by a lot of nervous questions: What if I don't do it right? What if I fall behind? Will I look foolish? Am I wearing the right clothes? What if I can't do the poses? What if I don't understand the instructions? Put my foot where??? That CANNOT be right!
So before you let these kinds of (very natural) questions put you off, it's really helpful to orient yourself to some basics of the practice so as to build some confidence and to establish some key physical alignment principles to you can ensure your practice is sustainable and you are bringing benefit without also incurring needless injury.
This workshop aims to set you up with an intentionally friendly non-competitive relationship with your yoga practice, one infused with curiosity, playfulness, tenacity, wisdom and compassion.
Yoga is for EVERY BODY. You don't need to already be flexible or already be able to quiet the mind. You simply need a body, a mind, a heart, some breath and an interest in living a healthier happier life!
This workshop is perfect for people new to the practice of yoga as well as for more seasoned students who want to review some basics or try a new perspective.
